The Department of Student Engagement for Multicultural Education and Student Leadership at Louisburg chose OOHLALA because they were looking for a way to “keep students informed in a way that was more meaningful and more real to them.”
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
The team at Louisburg realized that social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter were not the right place to reach their students. The student engagement team wanted a distraction-free platform that would allow them to reach students in a meaningful way.
The OOHLALA platform helps students and staff communicate together. Whether it’s organizing an intramural pickup game or sending an emergency alert to keep students safe, the app allows for campus communication in a simple, clutter-free environment.
By leveraging the campus-wide free wifi network, underprivileged students are able to access important resources and services without incurring data usage costs or needing to purchase a laptop.
Katie and her team were able to engage their students effectively and promote the homecoming spirit on the app in a way that is fun and familiar to their students.
The clubs and organizations module allows student clubs to gain access to a wider audience to promote their events and recruit new students.
